Jackson Creek Addition

The needs of a growing family for additional bedrooms and recreation space was the impetus for planning an addition to this existing 1970’s structure. The contemporary addition steps down the hill to allow the existing house to remain the dominant architectural feature as you approach the house. The new “bedroom pod” added four new bedrooms and two baths that were just the right size for a family of five. A new family entry and mudroom space was added to provide room for an active Montana lifestyle including ski and other outdoor gear storage.

The existing main house was remodeled adding new windows, a new heating system and additional insulation to provide a more comfortable and energy efficient space. A small addition and the infill of an existing cantilever condition to the back of this structure, provided the space to create a new and more functional kitchen and dining area. It also allowed for a media room that connects to the “bedroom pod” below.
